2024 VINTAGE UPDATE

WELCOME TO 2024, explore our Vintage Update 2024!

Discover our first pick, track grape development, and anticipate future weeks’ highlights!

We are in the midst of the busy harvest season here at SOUMAH and we are thrilled with the quality of the fruit we are seeing coming off our vines. We had a cool summer and the fruit is showing excellent varietal flavours, great acid levels allowing for the most natural of ferments .

Pinot Grigio was first to be picked and is now fermenting in tank followed closely by Chardonnay which is happily fermenting in a mixture of old and new oak while the Pinot Noir ferments in open top fermenters with daily pump overs.

Maturity sampling of our Italian varietals, Savarro and Brachetto is happening as we speak, and we estimate these will be picked within the next week. Marzemino, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are ripening nicely, and the weather forecast is showing ideal temperatures for a slow ripening in the autumn breeze to maximize flavour and varietal characteristics.
