28 May Best White Wine at ICCWS
And the results are in!
This past Saturday saw the International Cool Climate Wine Show (ICCWS) judging and trophy presentation at Mornington Racing Club. Led by Chief Judge Robert Paul, 17 international and local judges took two days to taste more than 700 wines from Australia, New Zealand, France and Italy. The ICCWS has 25 competition classes including sparkling wines, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, pinot gris, riesling, pinot noir and shiraz.
We are thrilled to have our 2017 Equilibrio Chardonnay not only receive Gold (96 Points) but also recipient of the trophy for Best White Wine! In addition, our 2018 d’Soumah Pinot Noir received Gold (95 Points).
Our Equilibrio Chardonnay is produced exclusively with the Mendosa clone; larger berries deliver fruit and lusciousness and the smaller berries provide acid and concentration. We also pick a little later for a slightly more generous wine but still retain total acidity. Fermenting in oak with close to 30% new barrels and a preponderance of large format 500L puncheons ensures elegance and soft integration. You can purchase this award winner here!
Thank you to the ICCWS , in particular Chairman Paul White and his team of dedicated volunteers.
