14 Aug James Halliday Wine Companion 2019
For yet another year running, we at Soumah have been rated a 5-Star winery in this year’s release of the 2019 James Halliday Wine Companion. This is a great success, supplemented by 12 of our wines receiving awards. Of these 12, six wines received a ‘five black glasses’ score, indicating the awarding of 94 points or higher.
...the clone used is Mendoza. This wine does full justice to the excellent vintage; with white peach and grapefruit - a familiar but ever enjoyable repartee between them. (96 Points).

Aromas sit firmly in the stone fruit realm, with apricot leading the way, and a touch of skins character providing a more savoury element. Displays the typically textured mouthfeel of the variety, the flavours ripe but not too sweet, and a juicy, mouthwatering acidity running through the palate. (94 points).
James Halliday is Australia’s leading wine critic, and his yearly Wine Companion is a bible of sorts to those both in the industry, and those who simply have a passion for delicious wine! The recognition received from his esteemed palate is a great pat on the back for us here at Soumah, and a push to strive for further greatness into the future. Next year we’re aiming for a ‘Red 5-Star’ rating – a challenge in which we hope to succeed!
