Masterclass Series: Chardonnay Lovers

The Yarra Valley is possibly the ultimate region in Australia for fresh, new-age Chardonnay that has intensity and drive. Our goal is simple: add to that reputation with our definitive vineyard sites and exacting viticulture to create modern, ultra-premium Chardonnays.We nuture a selection of Chardonnay clones at both our Hexham and Upper Ngumby vineyards. Although both vineyards are located in the Yarra Valley, each provides slightly different growing conditions to produce similar but distinct flavours in the resultant wines.

Similar to the Pinot Noir Lovers Masterclass, the Chardonnay Lovers Masterclass will focus on our different Chardonnay clones and compare the difference between our Hexham and Upper Ngumby vineyards. You will taste barrel samples, current releases, museum wines and two stunning imported French Chardonnays; one from Chablis and one from Meursault.

The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of imported cheeses, cured meats and house made produce.

 – Managed by husband and wife team, Nicolas Benard and Veronique Bonin, this winery only produces a few thousand bottles each year. They are known for crafting wines with the fresh, rich mineral and vibrant characteristics of Meursault. This will be a treat from Burgundy! RRP $180
2016 Oudin Chablis 1er Cru Vaugiraut
 – Located near the tiny village of Chichée, just south of Chablis, Domaine Oudin has grown from two hectares to more than nine. Originally run by their grandfather as a weekend hobby — then by their parents — Nathalie and sister Isabelle have taken over the winemaking. Vaugiraut is one of two premier crus from Oudin, each very distinct in character. RRP $75
