Early in the 1900’s the viticulturists around the hills of Isera in Trentino, started Cantina d’Isera by harvesting the precious grapes from the dark basaltic hills, primarily among them Marzemino. This variety was made famous by Mozart, being mentioned in his opera, Don Giovanni, which premiered in 1787! The vine requires a long growing season and ripens late.
