2019 Soumah Single Vineyard Pinot Grigio

Straw colour with the aromatics of honey dew, pear and orange blossom. Crisp on the palate offering fig and pear flavours supported by good natural acidity. A medium bodied wine that has a fine, textural length and weight. The fruit was gently-picked and then cool tank fermented on lees to create a lively fresh wine with texture that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with food.

Grigio means grey in Italian and refers to the fruit of this variety having a dusty grey colour. It is a cool climate grape and therefore the Yarra Valley is one of the better locations in Australia to produce a wine with the same zesty characters as from its origin.

“Attractive creamy lees and spicy fruit aromas, slivered almonds, the palate spritely and fresh with lively acidityand a crisp finish. A hint of peppermint. An appetising wine.”

“Reminiscent of an autumnal orchard as you put your nose in the glass, with aromas of ripe apples and pears and a hint of spice in the background. Nice mouthfeel, with a sweet-fruited accent to the flavours – a mirror image of the bouquet – giving it an attractive almost juice-like quality. The acidity is soft but sufficient to do its job of keeping it crisp and fresh. Special value wine.”
