The Perfect Pair Masterclass

You would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t enjoy a glass of wine accompanied by cheese or cherish their favourite cheese with a glass of wine. But what goes with what? After receiving feedback from a Masterclass graduate who wanted to know more about what to pair with wine, we bring you ‘The Perfect Pair’ Masterclass — the art of matching cheese and wine.

Winery Director, Brett Butcher, is thrilled to be in town to showcase a wide selection of Soumah wines for this Masterclass. Who better than the man behind the winery to explain the background of each wine, from its inception to the final bottled product. Alongside some of our favourite whites and reds, we have matched local and imported cheeses. Lucy, our Cellar Door Manager — and in-house fromage expert! — worked closely with Chef Paul to source the cheeses you will sample.

Prior to joining the Soumah team, Lucy spent numerous years at one of the Yarra Valley’s best known fromageries and has a vast knowledge in this area. Brett and Lucy team up for this event to navigate a tantalising session for your tastebuds, guiding you through smell, taste and taking your time!

Nine wines will be on tasting, including our newly released Brachetto Frizzante as well as a surprise or two for the cheese selection! The wine list follows (click on bold for more information):
