March 2023, harvest begins!

After a delay of three weeks, we are excited to announce that we finally started to hand-pick our grapes for this vintage yesterday! 🍇

We’ve kicked harvest off by picking our young Chardonnay Mendoza block first. It will be pressed off and the juice put to barrel to ferment with indigenous yeasts over the coming weeks.

On Sunday, we will harvest our Pinot Grigio in the cool of the night to retain as many aromatics as possible. Once again this will go straight into the press and then be racked into stainless steel tanks for fermentation.

The first red varieties will be Pinot Noir – of course – with our main block scheduled for two weeks time. This will be confirmed with regular testing of sugar and acid levels over the next week, and by tasting the fruit to ensure we harvest at the right time to gain optimum flavour profiles.

Our other varieties are not quite ready as yet, but with a few more days of sunshine and warmer weather, it won’t be long. We will keep you posted!
