YARRA VALLEY WINE TOUR WITH WINE COMPASS
We recently had visit from Wine Compass wine tours who have brought many a foodie, wine lover and media type to the Yarra Valley, showcasing their favourite wineries of the region. Their first stop was at Pimpernel Vineyards, who make excellent Rhone Valley and Burgundy inspired wines just around the corner from Soumah.
The main event of the day for the group was lunch at Soumah! They began with tasting through our range of wines, with much positive feedback, especially regarding our interesting Italian varietals. One comment said they had never tried Savagnin before – and now it was now their favourite grape!
Soumah Wines was a magical experience in a desirable part of the Yarra Valley; the Warramate foothills. Sweeping views from the Cellar Door are inspiring. With the fireplace pumping and engaging Cellar Door, Soumah was a brilliant visit. It was like Northern Italy descended on Yarra Valley.
THE WORLD LOVES MELBOURNE
The group enjoyed their lunch with full, unimpeded views of the rolling hills and vineyards on and around our property. The Soumah kitchen, like our wines, has an Italian influence with pasta dishes and traditional hearty meat dishes. The tour group commented that it was great having a rich, warm lunch on such a chilly day.
After we farewelled the group they headed to their last stop at Yileena Park Winery.
