Merenda at Soumah [Offered Spring/Summer Only]
Merenda means ‘afternoon snack’ in Italian — its a tradition that is intended to fill the spot between lunch and dinner! Indulge in a spread of sweet and savoury bites accompanied by a glass of Italian Prosecco or our Brachetto Frizzante. Merenda is served in the warmer months from September to March, on weekends between 3pm to 5pm.

Bookings are required as we cannot guarantee available tables.
Please note, there is a minimum spend on food of $35 per adult and all bookings are for two hours only.
Please contact us directly if your preferred time and date is not available online.
Our Chef has created authentic favourites such as slow cooked buffalo ragu, baked spinach cannelloni or spatchcock with Pinot Noir braised lentils. Our kitchen garden provides fresh seasonal produce used in these Italian inspired dishes.
We are well-known for our Forno Bravo woodfired pizzas; from the classic margherita to pork and fennel sausage with chilli or try a seasonal special on the weekends.
Enjoy a selection of house made produce on our antipasti board or perhaps wood fired prawns or burrata with Viognier soaked figs are more to your taste. Our imported Italian cheeses, such as truffle infused pecorino and washed rind taleggio, are served with lavosh, dried fruit, quince past and nuts.
There is a wide selection of dessert options, and finishing off with our special Brachetto sorbet is always a good thing!
Ai Fiori Trattoria
Before you head out, here are a few quick notes to keep in mind:
We are taking bookings for tables up to 20 people (subject to availability). Groups of 10 or more can enjoy an excellent lunch with antipasti plates to start, followed by a choice of four substantial mains. These authentic Italian plates include a meat, fish, pasta and vegetarian option which always receive positive feedback. We will happily accommodate dietary requirements with the availability of gluten free and vegan meals. Please contact our Trattoria Manager on 03 5962 4716 for more information.
Bookings are not required for tastings for groups less than eight people, but we suggest visiting outside of the lunch rush to avoid disappointment. Cellar door opens for tastings at 10am and closes at 5pm.
We are taking all the necessary precautions to keep you and our staff safe. We ask that you observe social distancing and hygiene protocols during your visit.
We like to stay open on Public Holidays as for many it is the only time to visit. However, on these days we apply a 20 percentage surcharge to diners, allowing us to compensate our team members appropriately. No surcharge is applied to take-away wine purchased from our Cellar Door.
Due to the high demand of tables, there is a minimum spend on food of $35 per adult and a limit of two hours for all bookings.
Join us and enjoy our authentic cuisine while taking in the views over the Soumah vineyard and the Warramate Hills. A great afternoon respite.
Kind Words from Our Guests
"I love Soumah wines and their restaurant is cosy, casual and warming."
"This place is a gem. At the end of a country lane, it has fantastic views across the vineyards and surrounding hills. But it’s not just the views. The food was great. The lamb shoulder was to die for, and the garlic bread was first rate. Highly recommended. We went on a quiet weekday afternoon, but you would need to book on weekends. The wine from the vineyard was also very good."
"Absolutely loved everything, views, ambience, service, wine, pizzas. Friendly staff. Main course little overpriced, but everything else perfect. Will return and have already recommended to others. My Italian guest adored the place and said it was like Tuscany in Italy."
Soumah ticks every single box. Northern Italian menu, friendly staff, it is just lovely in every way. We'll definitely be returning. If you're in the Yarra Valley, add it to your list.
"Finally a place with excellent service, very good food and reasonable prices. They even had good heating and lovely views. The Italian cuisine was real and authentic, with good size portions..."
"I have been in the wine game for over twenty years and I can say without a doubt that Soumah make a top drop!... we were delighted to come across this little gem... The antipasti and pizzas were delicious, cooked to perfection and a perfect pairing with our white (just as the waitress suggested). The view is breathtaking; we sat on the deck while the sun was setting and felt like we were back in Tuscany. I cannot commend these guys high enough. We will definitely be back again soon."
Ticked all the boxes... great views, ambience, quality food, wonderful staff and most importantly... great wines. Fantastic spot, absolute gem hidden away in the Yarra Valley.
"Our second time here for lunch, we started with wine tasting with the wonderful TJ. She spoke passionately about Soumah wines and provided a thoroughly interesting description... Lunch was fantastic... Service was great. Views are wonderful..."
"Lovely setting among the grape vines. Good pizza and pasta. Also good wines from their winery. Friendly and approachable."
